Need some illustrations? Planning an event?

I can help.

Looking for an illustrator? Here are some answers to a few questions that you might have:

Can I use your illustrations for my business?

Yes. You can buy a license to use my artwork for your business or product, unless it is already under an exclusive license. Get in touch.

Can I commission you to design new work?

Of course! Whether you have a specific brief that you want me to look at, or if you like my style but are not sure exactly what images you want, let’s talk.

I’ll listen to what you have in mind and we’ll go from there. It’s my favourite part of the job.

Where can I buy your artwork?

Right here! I have a selection of artwork now available as quality prints, delivered directly to you. More to be added soon, so keep a lookout!

Do you run live illustration events?

Yup. And great news if you are in Scotland - you may be able to get funding to pay for it! See this link to apply.

I am listed on the Live Literature directory here: https://www.scottishbooktrust.com/authors/maria-herbert-liew

Can you illustrate my book?

Maybe. If you’ve written a book that is going to be published and are looking for an illustrator, that’s great! Get your publisher to contact me and we’ll go from there - we’ll need to work with your publisher to discuss what they are looking for.

I am not able to take commissions for self-published books, but thanks for your interest!

How much do you charge for commissions?

Short answer – a fair price!

Longer answer – a job will be costed on a variety of factors such as where and how the artwork will be used. We can work from your budget and discuss what exactly it is you need.

I will always be clear about how much the work is going to cost before we start any project – that’s better for all of us!

(If you want to know more about the basics of pricing illustration, the Association of Illustrators have a good guide here.)

Do you teach classes?

Not at the moment! Aside from running illustration events I am currently focusing on creating lots of lovely new artwork.

Get in touch! I look forward to hearing from you.
